READING 1.
The  Mary Celeste is a mystery ship. Something unexpected happened to it and to this day, no one is sure of the fate of the ship and its passengers.
Here is what little is known about the events leading up to the discovery of the empty ship. The Mary Celeste was found abandoned in the mid Atlantic in 1872. On December 4, 1872, the Mary Celeste looked strange because the sails were not fully set and no crew members of the Dai Gratia immediately took a boat over the Mary Celeste. They identified the ship as the Mary Celeste, which had left New York on November 7 with a full load and ten people on board.
The situation on the Mary Celeste was quite mysterious. No one was on the ship; the ship had simply been left in the middle of the ocean. No obvious reason why the ship  had been abandoned could be seen. There were plenty of supplies, the complete cargo was  still on board, the crews’ belonging, and were there  and there was no sign of violence disaster. However, one of the long boat and the captain’s navigational instrument were missing.
From the strange situation on the ship a conclusion was drawn about the fate of the ship. The belief was that, for some unknown reason, the captain along his wife, his young daughter and the seven crew members, had decided to abandon the ship in the middle of the ocean, never to be seen again.

This text is for questions 34 to 38   How do Banks Count Our Interest ?
Interest is the sum charged for borrowing money for fixed period of time. Principal is the term used for the money that is borrowed, and the rate of Interest is the per cent per year of the principal Charged for its use. Most of the profits for a Bank Are derived from the interest that they charge for the use of their own or their depositor's money
All problems in interest may be solved by using one general equation that may be stated as follows: interest : Principal x Rate x Time. Any one of the four quantities-that is interest, principal, rate of time-may be found when the other three are known. The time is expressed in years. The rate is expressed as a decimal fraction. Thus, 6 per cent interest means six cents charged for the use of $ 1 of principal borrowed for one year. Although the time may less that, equal to or greater than one year, most applications for loans are for periods of less than one year. For purposes of computing interest for short periods, the commercial year or 360 days is commonly used but when large sums of money are involved, exact interest is computed one the basis of 365 days. There are several positive and negative impacts of the Internet on education. One of the positive impacts of the Internet on education is that when you are curious about something, you can find out the information you need immediately from the Internet to satisfy your "hunger for learning". If you are curious about the ants in your backyard, or if you want to know more about dinosaurs or any other prehistoric animals, there is an abundance of information at your fingertips and you can improve your knowledge.
On the other hand, some would argue that the Internet degrades the quality of research, throwing people into areas where the answers they find are low-quality guesses, at best. The Internet can also be a huge distraction, like many  other things that distract us from serious research.

Family welfare is the state or condition of having good health, happiness and prosperity in a family. A father works hard to earn money for the welfare of the family. Another works hard to do the housework, such as cooking, washing and ironing, cleaning the room and so on. If a father is successful, he can employ a servant or a house maid. The housemaid will help to do the housework.
The family may consist of the husband and wife and their children. Sometimes their father-in-law, mother-in-law and cousins also stay with them. They learn how to manage their money and how to combine their jobs with managing a household.
Good parents always make their children healthy, happy and helpful. Here is the description of good parents and good children. The children get up early in the morning. They make the beds, stand before the mirror, comb their hair and go to the bathroom. When the dark begins to fall, they remember to close all the windows and doors, light the lamps and draw the curtains. In the day time, although they are fast asleep, they get up and rise to their feet, and rush to the dining room if their mother calls them to help her lay the table. One child prepares the vegetables salad and fruit salad which she promises to make. The other child pours the water into the empty glasses. Two o’clock pm is the usual time for the family for taking second meal.  “Good morning everybody “, “Good night, mum, dad “ and “ Good bye grandpa, grandma “ are greeting they used to greet their parents and grandparents. They never complain if they are faced with a host of difficulties. They do the housework not only to satisfy their parents, but it is the duty of every child to help his parents.
The parents always encourage them never to show shyness. They are not shy to go and play together with poor children in the neighborhood. They are social children, because they lend their playmates, books, balls and bicycles. If the parents give the daily care necessary for their children, they will cling to their parents. They will follow their parents’ advice. The parents allow great deal of freedom to each child. Each one is encouraged to develop his or her own talents and personality. They always try to prevent conflict in the family and give child enough freedom to grow in his or her own way. In the end, the family is strengthened and each one is make happier if problem can be worked out without breaking up the family. ( B Inggris I, Ganesha Exact Bdg )

Such food, they say , balance substantial amounts of nearly all essential nutrients. Pizza, for instance, provides protein and fat in its cheese, carbohydrate in its crust, and vitamin and mineral in its tomato sauce. When eaten in normal quantities, fast food may supply more calories than average adult needs. Unfortunately, fast food are not entirely free on nutritional drawbacks. Most fast foods contain excessive amounts of sodium ( principally in salt ) sugar and fat. But if sugary drink is limited and if sodium laced seasoning are shunned, the fast food meet the ultimate goals of a sound diet; nutritional balance and broad appeal.  ( Source : Ganeca Exact Bdg ).

Pollution is the accumulation of something where it is not wanted. Pollution may be unwanted for variety of reasons. They might, for example, be desirable if they were somewhere else. Crude oil is valuable when it is piped into refineries to supply fuel for cars and power plants. But adrift on the ocean, it is a pollution. DDT has saved my lives by killing mosquitoes that carry malaria and other diseases. But in the bodies of fish, birds and other wildlife, it is a pollutant. Heat is useful when it warms houses or generates electricity; when it is discharged in large quantities into cold clear streams or lakes, it causes thermal pollution.
Other pollutants are always desirable. Radioactive fallout, for example, has not redeeming features regardless of where it is. Chemical and biological weapons present a dilemma when they must be discarded; they are pollutants wherever they are dumped. Certain items become undesirable after they have served their purposed. Aluminum cans are useful containers for beers and soft drinks, but nobody wants them once they are empty.
Other substances become pollutants when they are accumulate in large concentrations . A  hiker’s sanitary arrangements consists of a small hole dug in the ground and covered up after he has used it. Decomposers in the ecosystem break down the waste. Bur sewage disposal for a city of one or two millions people in another matter; if proper treatment plants are not available, water pollution is the inevitable result.   ( Taken from : The book of  popular science )
